Our Ministers
Minister Tanjia Detrice Wilkerson Tanjia Detrice Wilkerson is an evangelist at one of the most Bible-based churches in the City of Detroit, Up From The World Ministries. Evangelist Wilkerson had her first experience with Christ at an early age in a small town of Hernado, Mississippi. After moving to Detroit, Michigan in 1977 with her family she became a member of Redeem Church of God in Christ where she received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. In the Spring of 2001, Evangelist Wilkerson joined Up From The World Ministries and on May 4, 2008 she was ordained as an Evangelist of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She serves as the Youth Leader at Up From The World Ministries. As an Evangelist and a single parent she understands that she should always be concerned with God's business. 1Corinthians 7:32 - "But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord." She is very passionate about the Youth and truly understands that they have pressures as young adults. She is the daughter of Mother Dorothy J. Wilkerson, the sister of Pastor Arric L. Wilkerson and Minister Tyrin K. Brown. She is the proud mother of one son Ryan Arkey Wilkerson who she loves very much. Minister Nikki Boyd Evangelist Nikki Boyd accepted Christ in 1994 and joined New Foundation Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor Marshall Hall. She was later licensed as an Evangelist on October 21, 2001. While there, she humbly and faithfully served for 13 years in several areas of ministry and in many roles such as choir member, choir president (6yrs), Sunday school secretary, Sunday school teacher, youth mentor, and as an usher. She also participated in the audio ministry. In October of 2008, prompted by the Holy Spirit, Evangelist Boyd moved her membership to "Up from the World Ministries," where she now serves under the leadership of Pastor Arric L. Wilkerson. She is a native Detroiter and is the proud mother of two children, Anthony and Naya. She attended David Mackenzie High school and graduated in 1992. In July of 2000, she attended Real Estate Professional Education Group in Novi, Michigan where she successfully completed and received her certificate of completion in Real Estate. In September 2000, she became a licensed Real Estate Salesperson. A few years later in April of 2004, she went back to real estate school to become a Real Estate Broker. This was accomplished on July 6, 2004 and in October of the same year she became the Broker/Owner of "Celestial Realty" which is still "Soaring for Excellence". Throughout her life she has overcome many obstacles by applying the Word of God to her life. There is a strong hunger and thirst for God's Word in her. Her favorite scripture, one which she builds her whole life on, is Hebrews 11:1 - "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen." Minister Tyrin K. Brown Minister Tyrin K. Brown was born in Memphis, Tennessee. In 1977, his family moved to Detroit, Michigan and there his mother joined Redeem Church of God in Christ on the eastside of Detroit. At 12 years of age, Minister Brown had his first experience with God at Redeem Church of God in Christ. Later, he strayed away from God and found himself functioning in darkness as a nightclub deejay. Nonetheless, God had mercy and extended his grace towards Minister Brown. God called him out of darkness and into His marvelous light in the spring of 2001 in a community room in Southfield, Michigan where Up From The World Ministries began. God started to cleanse Minister Brown through the washing of his spirit and revealed Minister Brown's true identity to him. It was later confirmed through Pastor Arric L. Wilkerson that Tyrin K. Brown would become Minister Brown. He was licensed under the leadership of Pastor Arric L. Wilkerson in April 2007 and then ordained in May of 2008. Minister Brown has been cleansed and sent to preach and teach the Gospel of The Lord Jesus Christ. Minister Brown teaches family enrichment classes and is very serious about the Word of God, the work of the ministry and winning souls for the Lord. 2 Timothy 4:5 reads: "But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry." Minister Rhonda Yvette Jackson Minister Rhonda Yvette Jackson was born in Birmingham, Alabama. She is the older of two siblings. At an early age she, along with her mother and her middle sister migrated to Detroit Michigan where she grew up. Due to a series of unwise decisions that she made in her teenage years, Minister Jackson endured one roller coaster ride after another due to low self-esteem which resulted in her use of drugs and alcohol. However by the grace and mercies of God, she subsequently rebounded from a hedonistic lifestyle and embarked on a spiritual odyssey that has greatly transformed her life. After attending many churches throughout her life she finally made Up From The World Ministries her home in 2003, where she gave her life to Christ. After joining the ministry, six months later she joined the work where she became a member of the usher board. In 2010 she was appointed by Pastor Arric Wilkerson president of the Greeter's Ministry and in March 2015 she was licensed as a minister. Minister Jackson has dedicated her life to God. Her goal is to reach as many people as God allows; for the purpose of encouraging the hearts of His people by way of His word and the lessons that she learned from her life's journey. Minister Jackson has vowed to serve God for the rest of her life. Minister Frank K. McCord Frank K. McCord was born May 17, 1967 the younger of two sisters Phyllis Turner and Cynthia Tate. He grew up in Hamtramck, Michigan where he attended Hamtramck Public Schools. After graduating from high school in August 1985, Minister McCord accepted Christ and gained a greater understanding of Jesus Christ. Along the way he had some battles with commitment to Christ. He was never taught to run to God, but he always ran from God not realizing that" God is married to the backslider." Growing up in church certainly influenced his life with much grace and mercy that he felt was undeserved. It appeared that God would not allow him to rest easy outside the calling that God has placed on his life. Just like Jonah in the belly of mercy and grace (whale) Minister Frank found himself in many situations and circumstances that God eventually turned around for his good. For instance... he was invited by his niece to Up From The World Ministries for a one time visit. After hearing the word of God during that visit, God quickened his spirit and he realized God's calling on his life. In obedience to the Lord, Minister McCord had finally found a church home where he would gain knowledge and understanding of God's word which has changed the quality of his life. He allowed God's word and revelation to fill his heart. He has vowed not to run from God but use every trial and tribulation to run to God. God has truly used Pastor Wilkerson like a jewel to minister to him which restored his life. And on April 5, 2015 Pastor Wilkerson licensed him a minister. Now, Minister McCord presently lives by this rule "Obedience, is better than sacrifice." And he's proud to serve others with the great teaching that he has received from God through Pastor Wilkerson. Along with God using Minister McCord as a servant of God, He also uses him to serve the citizens of Detroit as a police officer, a career path he's been on since March 1994. One of the biggest blessing of his career was meeting his wife Donna who is also a police officer. They been married since 2013 and together they have six beautiful children: Anthony, Aaron, Ben, Christopher Bethany and Kameron. His mission is to keep his family grounded in Christ. |
