Detroit Pastor is TRULY Reclaiming the neighborhood!
West side church partners with City to transform neighborhood Changing a Neighborhood Neighborhood rebuilding success in Detroit  Pastor Arric L. Wilkerson is a Champion of Champions! In a time when people were saying "Can Any Good Thing Come Out of Detroit?", Pastor Wilkerson's response was "yes"! He is the founder and Pastor of Up From the World Ministries located in the Puritan Homes sub-division of Detroit, an area of drugs and ruin. He has purchased from the two surrounding blocks, 25 homes and 8 lots and is making it possible for the neighbor to come back to the hood. Pastor Wilkerson also took up residence in the church to help cut the cost to restore the neighborhood that was left for ruin. Today 18 of those homes are all totally restored from top to bottom and 18 families out of the membership of UFTWM have been provided with great affordable housing. His motto is ... If we can bring the neighbor back to the hood, we can change it back to a neighborhood" ... and as you can see the hood is well on its way back to becoming the vibrant and lively place that it was many years ago when children played outside in the street. To God Be The Glory for the things He has done through Pastor Wilkerson and the members of Up From The World Ministries.  |
